Large organic smudge sticks. Completely wild crafted and sustainable all ethically harvest, and hand made by myself. I grow and harvest nearly all of my herbs my own in small batches. Please be aware of the source of your sage smudge sticks, especially white sage to make sure it is sustainable legal and ethically harvest. Nearly half of sage plants original habitat has already been lost to urban development. As with many other native plants, remaining populations are threatened by climate change, drought, and wildfire, but the most immediate impact to white sage is large-scale, illegal harvesting of wild plants to make smudge bundles for commercial sale.

Native people have told of arriving at their traditional sage-gathering grounds to find whole hillsides stripped bare. Poachers sometimes stretch a chain between two trucks and drive across the landscape, ripping every plant out of the ground. Rangers at one preserve in San Bernardino County estimate that in the past five years, more than 20,000 pounds of white sage have been stolen from that land they are trying to protect. Similar plundering is taking place throughout Southern California.

The ecological damage is horrific. The disrespect to Native people and mother nature is shocking.

My smudge sticks are blended with all organic herbs of rosemary, lavender, blue & purple sage and rose petals. Hibiscus flower. (depending on seasonal availability)

These Large organic smudge sticks burn really well and produce a pleasant sent of the mixture of herbs. (These are made seasonal so varying colours of rose petals and safe burning flowers are used between red, pink, yellow lilac and white depending on what is blooming in my garden)

Ancient Greeks considered Salvia melissodora a sacred herb and dedicated it to Zeus. The epithet “melissodora” comes from “Melissa” (honeybee) and “odora” (fragrance). Melissa is also the name of a mythological Cretan nymph that collected honey.
